These Are The Fastest Bugattis Ever Made

There are few manufacturers in the world that are as focused on breaking their own performance records as Bugatti is. The French luxury-performance carmaker founded by an Italian-born industrial designer has a long legacy of making luxury performance cars, and it lifted it to a whole new level when the Veyron was launched back in 2005. It was the first production, street-legal car to break the 400 km/h speed barrier, or 248 mph. Since then, Bugatti has not looked back and has smashed its own performance standards with each new model.

Today, let us look at the fastest and best Bugatti has ever produced, which one can own today in terms of top speed and acceleration. The list starts with the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which has a top speed of 267 mph, and it ends with the fastest Bugatti in the world, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has a top speed of 304.773 mph.

5.   Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, based on the Veyron 16.4, was one of the fastest Bugatti models of all time, going from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 267 mph. The Super Sport features an 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers, which produces a staggering 1,200 horsepower and 1106 lb-ft of torque. All the power went to the AWD system via the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Only 30 units of the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport were ever produced, making it a highly sought-after collectible among car enthusiasts. Each one of those 30 examples had a price tag of $2.4 million.

The Veyron Super Sport in 2013 was the fastest production car in the world, setting a Guinness World Record with a speed of 431 kph (267 mph). To achieve this performance, several changes were made, including a reworked chassis, strengthening of the stabilizers, new dampers, and improvements to the AWD system to manage up to 1.4 g in lateral acceleration. The body was also modified with carbon fiber body panels, larger air vents, and NACA ducts to the roof for cooling.

4. Bugatti Divo

The Bugatti Divo is the first Bugatti model that has been said to be meant for corners. It was unveiled in 2018 and is named after Albert Divo, a two-time winner of the Targa Florio race in the 1920s. The Divo is based on the Bugatti Chiron and features a modified version of its W16 engine, producing 1,500 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque, which makes it do 0-62 mph in 2.4 seconds and has a top speed of 236 mph, which is electronically limited, as the focus of the car is to go fast around corners.

Only 40 units of the Bugatti Divo were produced, making it one of the rarest and most exclusive cars in the world. With a price tag of around $5.7 million, ownership of a Bugatti Divo is reserved for the most passionate car collectors and enthusiasts.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the standard version of the Super Sport 300+. It features a reworked version of the 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 engine, which makes 1578 hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque, which is the same as the Super Sport 300+.

The top speed of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is electronically limited at 273 mph, and unlike the 300+, the limiter cannot be disabled by Bugatti in the Super Sport for prepared runs. It can go from 0-62 mph in 2.4 seconds. According to Bugatti, around 70–80 units of the Chiron Super Sport will be produced, with each one costing around $3.9 million.

This also leads to an improved acceleration of 12% over the standard Chiron. In order to get more power while driving, the Super Sport gets a different set of turbochargers as compared to the standard Chiron and Chiron Sport.

1. Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

The fastest Bugatti in the world is the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ set a new world record for the fastest production car with a top speed of 304 mph. This record-breaking run was achieved on the Volkswagen Group's Ehra-Lessien test track in Germany and was independently verified by Guinness World Records. The record-breaking run was accomplished by Bugatti test driver Andy Wallace, who piloted the Chiron Super Sport 300+ to its top speed.

The car is powered by the same 8.0-liter W16 engine as the standard Super Sport, but it has been tuned to produce 1600 horsepower and 1180 lb-ft of torque.

However, visually, it has the same look as the Super Sport Prototype, which set the world record and features longtail styling, as that was the bodystyle that helped achieve such speeds by generating enough downforce to keep the car planted and then reduce drag. It is limited to 30 units worldwide, and each will cost nearly $4 million, if they are all sold out.
