Toyota Century SUV
For exclusive Japan-only, the Toyota Century SUV is here to change your perspective of Toyota as a car manufacturer. The Rolls Royce of Japan comes with some interesting features like the mode to minimize jerk while braking. A 3.5-liter hybrid powertrain that provides up to 30 MPG and the Toyota Century SUV mileage is limited to 33 miles in EV mode. Add to that the reclining rear seats and a whopping $170,000 price tag, and the Century SUV surely becomes a one-of-a-kind vehicle.

Toyota is well respected in the car community for its excellent built quality and reliable vehicles. However this time they are in the news for their Japan-exclusive Chauffeur series famously known as the Toyota Century which brings back the memories of their sedan with the same name.

Although Toyota has a separate division for its luxury vehicle market called the Lexus, it provides its epitome of the chauffeur experience under the Century badge. And this time all eyes are on the Century hybrid SUV that the manufacturer has just revealed on Sept 6.

Embracing the 2024 Toyota lineup, the Century is a special series of handbuilt cars, known for their absolute refinement and luxurious experience that is specifically made for the Japanese Domestic Market. These cars are produced with utmost care and only by the experts as there is no room for compromise, rivaling the quality of a Bentley or a Rolls-Royce.

Century was first introduced in 1967 with a buttery-smooth V12 engine in the form of a full-size sedan, and recently the manufacturer added the SUV to the whole conversation. The latest Toyota Century SUV 2023, like its previous generation, pushed the capabilities of the manufacturer while retaining the design characteristics of its sedan sibling.

We also cannot deny the fact the big boxy SUV looks quite similar to the Rolls Royce Cullinan but we will also affirm that we aren’t particularly complaining either. The Toyota Century SUV interior with its large dimensions offers spacious quarters for the passengers and their luggage.

Despite its big stature, the Century SUV provides seating for only four people including the driver. However, those 4 people who will be sitting inside will find themselves surrounded by lush materials and unmatched attention to detail, especially in the back.

Toyota has also made some extra steps by introducing a driving mode that smoothes out the braking jerks for the rear seat occupants, see the technological level we are talking about. According to the reports, Toyota is also offering a ton of customization options with the Century SUV.

This includes several exterior color options including a two-tone scheme and a number of interior upholstery to fulfill the consumer needs. With that said there will be a sporty GR-badged Century SUV which will come with sliding doors and a different set of wheels and tires.

Thanks to the strict emission norms, Century Toyota SUV halves the cylinder numbers from V12 to 3.5L V6, however this time it is supplemented with a hybrid system. The powertrain looks similar to the 2024 Lexus TX550+ and makes 406 horsepower with a claimed fuel economy of 30 MPG and a 33-mile all-electric range for the three-rowed SUV.

Toyota has not confirmed the technical specs of the Century other than the dimensions and heavy 5600+ curb weight of the SUV. Like its Sedan sibling, the Century SUV is exclusively on sale in Japan only, and since it is hand-built, the manufacturer stated that they will only make 30 units per month. The Toyota Century SUV price starts somewhere around $170,000, which is quite attractive considering the competition.
