Maserati MC20 Gets Modified By Mansory

With the MC20 (Maserati Corse 20) Maserati heralds a new era in its long, over 100-year company history and wants to continue its remarkable growth of recent years in the future.

Called First Edition, the coupe receives a body kit made largely of carbon fiber to keep weight in check, a completely redesigned interior, and a generous 99-horsepower bump.

The Mansory modification brings the following changes to the Maserati MC20:

  • Complete vehicle conversion
  • All body attachments in Forged Carbon
  • Completely redesigned interior
  • New wheel design type "FV.5”
  • Power increase to 720 hp and 850 Nm
  • Performance: Vmax 330 km/h and 0-100 km/h in 2.7s
  • Start of a full model family

Powertrain

Maserati

Power comes from an evolution of the regular-production MC20's excellent Nettuno engine. The twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 develops 720 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. Mansory made several software changes and fitted a high-performance exhaust system developed in-house to achieve the increase. The mid-mounted V6 spins the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. It sends the coupe from zero to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds and on to a 205-mph top speed.

The Mansory MC20 has been treated to a complete carbon-fiber body kit that transforms the already radical look of this car.

The kit consists of a vast grill-less front end with all types of fins, louvers, and canards incorporated into it, a massive rear wing large enough to have a family-size dinner on, and a rear diffuser that looks like it belongs on a Le Mans prototype.

The car also features the Italian flag on its end plates and a central racing stripe for added go-faster appeal. This MC20 rolls on a set of gorgeous Mansory FV.5 ten-spoke wheels wrapped in 255/30 R21 front and 335/35 R22 rear tires, behind which hides yellow-painted brake calipers and newly developed suspension components

The tuner fitted a body kit that includes wider front air intakes, an aggressive-looking front splitter, vents integrated into the fenders, a new engine cover with a scoop that gives the V6 additional cooling air, a massive rear wing, and a wide air diffuser. Some of the carbon fiber parts are left unpainted to give the First Edition an even more striking design, while 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels add a finishing touch to the custom look.

Interiors

Maserati

The interior of this MC20 is equally as outlandish: it features the Italian Tricolore on the seats and a leather and carbon steering wheel. The yellow and white seats feature diamond stitching and even the floor mats and seat belts are branded with the Mansory logo.

The seats, dashboard, door panels, and even the footwells are lined with what Mansory calls "glove-soft" leather upholstery. Most of it is yellow, which was chosen to echo some of the exterior trim.

Mansory hasn't released pricing details but nothing suggests the MC20 First Edition is cheap; the standard car carries a base price of about $220,000. The Maserati MC20 competes with other luxury coupés like the Porsche 911 Turbo and McLaren GT.
