The BRABUS
Mercedes-Benz already offers its in-house upgradation treatment for some select vehicles in its lineup in AMG’s guise. However, since 1999, it acquired BRABUS, which is currently the biggest tuner of Mercedes vehicles, of course after AMG. The brand was initially founded back in 1977 in Germany by Bodo Bodo Buschmann and Klaus Brackmann. Till 2021, BRABUS only tuned vehicles from Mercedes but since 2022, it also tuned a couple of Porsches including the Taycan and a Rolls-Royce as well.

BRABUS is a big name when it comes to customizations, extreme customizations to be exact. And the brand has been into tuning Mercedes-Benz vehicles till 2021. From 2022 onward, BRABUS extended its wing and customized two Porsches which include the iconic Taycan EV as well as a Rolls Royce Ghost. Other than these, the brand tunes motorcycles and the iconic SMART car too. The brand’s foundation was laid back in 1977 by Bodo Buschmann and Klaus Brackmann in Germany while Mercedes-Benz acquired it in 1999.

Currently, BRABUS is the second biggest tuner of Benz vehicles after AMG. The customizations from the mod house include both extensive mechanical as well as visual upgrades which are majorly finished in a dark theme, a signature treatment from BRABUS.

What are the modified vehicles built by BRABUS?

Much like AMG, BRABUS has its separate assembly units and testing grounds where it builds and tests its tuned cars. Not only expensive and luxurious models from Benz, but the brand also offers its services right from the compact A-Class to X-Class, the luxury pickup truck from the brand. Moreover, it tunes the V-Class van to make it more luxurious and more powerful while the latter might not make true sense for everyone though.

To increase the performance of the vehicles, BRABUS primarily uses power increase modules for the ECU that delivers some impressive output increment without needing to upgrade any mechanical parts of the powertrains. Other than that, the brand focuses on finer attention to detail such as equipping select models with carbon fiber trims, BRABUS branded wheels, luxury floor mats, seat upholsteries, and interior trim inserts.

Here are some Brabus-tuned cars:

7. BRABUS 600

The BRABUS 600 is none other than the ultra-luxurious Maybach S580 beefed up. The car gets wrapped in BRABUS parts right from the wheels to the interior, giving the already flashy car an even better appeal. On the outside, the sedan gets a Carbon Body Package that equips the car with a full carbon fiber front spoiler, front skirt, and rear diffuser. The Tristar logo gets replaced with the BRABUS logo finished in Shadow Gray shade.

A “BRABUS MASTERPIECE” logo is fitted onto the front fenders, C-pillars, and trunk lid. The sedan rides on shiny 22-inch BRABUS Monoblock M wheels which are shodden with Continental SportContact 7 tires. On the inside, the car gets a dizzying number of upgrades. Some of the upgrades include leather wrapping for all the exposed surfaces and fully adjustable front headrests. Moreover, the sun visors are done with Alcantara, denoting incredible attention to detail.

6. BRABUS 900 XLP “ONE OF TEN”

Next up, is the BRABUS Rocket 900, an extremely tuned version of the Mercedes-AMG G63. Right from first glance, the pickup looks and feels rugged with the front and rear portal axles and the big 22-inch BRABUS wheels wearing all-terrain Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires. At the rear, the vehicle has been extended by 500 mm along with reinforcements and carbon fiber walls, especially for the loading area.

Also, the rear gets a roll bar upgrade for off-roading purposes as well. Here is another example of BRABUS’ obsession with power and it’s the AMG G63 again. BRABUS calls it 900 Superblack since it gets an overdose of blacked-out treatment inside out. On the exterior, the SUV gets BRABUS badging along with roof-mounted LED lights and carbon fiber fitments.

Everything starting from the front bumper to the hood is swapped out with carbon fiber units. The vehicle rides on BRABUS Monoblock Z 14-inch alloy wheels which wear performance rubbers. Also, the stock suspension gets replaced with BRABUS’ Ride-Control as well.

The increase in displacement occurred with enhanced engine parts such as enhanced connecting rods, special forged pistons, bigger turbocharger units, and upgraded fuel pumps. In the Superblack, the motor allows the vehicle to rocket to 60 mph from a standstill in under 3.7 seconds, and this time BRABUS canceled all the limits, allowing the SUV hit a top speed of 174 mph.

4. BRABUS ROCKET 900 “ONE OF TEN”

Another BRABUS Rocket 900 is here, and it is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 sedan. In its AMG form, the sedan is already a performance demon while its demonic powers get enhanced with the BRABUS treatment. As per the brand, this will be a limited edition build with only 10 examples to be built. Each car will have its production unit number denoted in words like this one, “One Of Ten” on the inside.

The exterior gets extensive carbon fiber treatment with everything from the hood, the front bumper, to the rear bumper, and the spoiler replaced with high-strength gloss-black carbon fiber units. The interior sees a full black theme with contrasting red piping and seams on the dashboard and the center console. Moreover, BRABUS offers individual owners to customize their rides as per their choice, giving the best bespoke experience.

3. BRABUS 900 – MERCEDES-MAYBACH GLS 600

After the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, it is considered the S-Class of luxury SUVs out there and offers some cutting-edge tech as well. With its stock powertrain, the GLS 600 is a mighty powerful machine on the roads.

However, BRABUS satiates its hunger for power by giving the GLS 600 the special treatment that makes it an ultimate land yacht. Like other vehicles from BRABUS, the GLS 600 also gets extensive blacked-out exterior treatments and carbon fiber fittings with the familiar MASTERPIECE badges as well.

2. BRABUS INVICTO LUXURY

BRABUS even has its own solution for people who might want to travel in ultimate luxury but are important enough to be within an armored vehicle. For that, BRABUS took the mighty AMG G 63 and added a VR6 Plus level of armoring along with blast protection.

Quite naturally, those extra bits of thick metal armored plates and heavy-duty construction are bound to make the vehicle slower but not the Invicto here. While the cabin is completely shielded from a variety of bullets and blasts, the luxury appointments aren’t cut down, and it offers all the amenities like the regular G 63 SUV.

1. BRABUS 700

The Rolls Royce Ghost ranks among the best and most indulging luxury saloons on sale right now. And even on the performance part, the sedan is no slouch either. However, for BRABUS, it is. While purists might have a tussle over the replaced wheels and carbon fiber exterior trim inserts taking away the classy feel of the car, they do give it a much sportier appeal complementing the performance it has.

On the inside, the dashboard and the center console get carbon fiber panels with blacked-out glossy finishes on the controls. The upholstery is completely upgraded to premium perforated leather along with other aesthetic upgrades as well.
