Here’s A Look Into The Autobahn Country Club

Owning and driving exotic cars or sports cars has always been an elating experience. However, having fun on public roads is a strict no-no due to safety and traffic rules purposes. As such, some dedicated clubs offer the opportunity, or rather paid services to owners of such cars for having a joyful experience with their cars in a closed area. And the Autobahn Country Club is one of them.

Here’s A Look Into The Autobahn Country Club

A majority of people owning a sports car or an exotic car, share a special relationship with their machines and wish to enjoy them at the same time. However, driving them flat out or enthusiastically out on public roads isn't recommended and isn’t possible either for safety reasons and traffic rules.

Hence, the requirement for a track or a circuit within a closed area emerges. The Autobahn Country Club, located in Joliet, Chicago, offers just the right facilities and experiences that one with a performance-specced car needs. Not only a couple of memberships, but the club offers dedicated racing lessons that one can avail of at nominal expenses as compared to having to pay premium prices for the memberships.

How to Join the Autobahn Country Club?

Like other car clubs, the Autobahn Country Club requires an individual to take membership to enjoy all the benefits offered by them. For joining, the club has a dedicated section on its website that lists the three types of memberships available. Since the club is more focused on driving and racing, getting a membership unlocks several amenities for free and the members are offered handsome discounts on other expenses such as the track expenses and club social event experiences as well.

What benefits does the Autobahn Country Club membership offer?

It is quite prevalent now that car clubs offer some irrefutable perks and benefits to those who take membership. In the case of the Autobahn Country Club, both members and non-members can have access to the tracks, the prime driving force behind the club.

The Autobahn Country Club Annual Events?

Unlike a few other car clubs, the Autobahn Country Club doesn’t have any annual events. However, they do organize frequent monthly events and already have several of them lined up for the coming months as well. Some of the events are for members while some of them are open to everyone requiring a fee. As mentioned earlier, the club charges less amount if you use your own vehicle while the charges are higher for the club’s race-specced cars. Some of the events are listed below:

  • GPS Tracktime: This is an upcoming event in the month of April, and will be held on the Autobahn Country Club tracks. As the club calls it, the event is part of a high-performance driving event or HDPE and isn’t limited to the members only. It will be a non-competitive event where the club officials will time the individual participants separately. Furthermore, the club will also offer an option to time the individuals using advanced GPS data also.
  • Performance Drive: Another upcoming event next month is Performance Drive which is also open to everyone. However, one needs to purchase a ticket to participate in the event. The prime highlights of the event are professional instruction about the basics of racetrack driving, classroom instructions, timed track driving sessions, lunch facility, and the participants getting to use their own car. The event will be a graded one where the participants will be required to drive around the track at controlled speeds, followed by high-speed driving around the tracks but within a club professional’s guidance.

  • ASM Spring Track and Drift: This is another upcoming event that will be held on the 15th of April, 2023. The event will be held in two parts so that participants having less experience in drifting will participate separately while participants with extensive experience can go out on the track separately. With a participant limit of 100, the groups will be subdivided into 25 individuals so that everyone can avail of a quality time out on the tracks.
  • Autobahn Sprint: This upcoming event will be held on 1st June 2023. This event has some similarities with the previously mentioned Performance Drive but this one includes competitive track times. In the beginning, there will be a classroom crash course where the participants will be transferred knowledge on cornering, weight distribution, proper braking techniques, and fundamentals of car control by Autobahn Driver Academy Instructors. Post the classroom session, the participants will go out on the track wearing helmets and take part in high-speed driving around the track trailing behind an instructor. All the sessions will be timed and the fastest drivers will be awarded at the end of the day. Furthermore, the participants will get to enjoy a hearty and hot buffet laid out by the hospitality team of the club.
