The M1 Concourse is named after the first-ever highway in the US and is located in Pontiac, Michigan. The Concourse was essentially GM’s manufacturing facility for trucks and coaches which became defunct back in 2008. After completely demolishing the facilities in 2014, the site was sold to M1 Concourse and converted into a vast recreational ground for automobile enthusiasts along with a huge event center and private garages as well.

The M1 Concourse also has its own merchandise store which offers a wide range of accessories such as t-shirts, jackets, premium wristwatches, and caps.

The M1 Concourse offers a few types of memberships where an individual can sign up for garages, M1 Motorsports Club, and M1 Car Club. The Concourse also offers the opportunity to sponsor events and the vehicles participating carry the sponsors’ logos during an event.

The M1 Concourse Annual Events?

The M1 Concourse holds an iconic annual event every year, the American Speed Festival. The event is sponsored by Comerica Bank and happens all over the M1 Concourse which is spread across 87 acres. In this event, almost every type of car participates and performs several runs on the tracks as well. The class of cars includes vintage stock performance cars, custom-built cars from automotive performance brands, vintage Indy cars, and present-day supercars. Other than this, the club organizes a few other events which are listed below:

  • Drive & Dine Tour: This is an upcoming event at the M1 Concourse where only 80 participants can take part. There are 80 tickets priced at $200 each which include the lavish dining layout within the course of the event. All the participants will take a drive across Detroit city and visit iconic automotive spots and automotive museums followed by returning to the Concourse.

  • Speed Ring: This upcoming event has been scheduled to be held on September 29, 2023, on the M1 Concourse. This event will allow visitors to take a sneak peek into the intriguing garages having cars of all types. The types of cars include Corvette racecars, vintage Indy cars, Le Mans racecars, supercars, and drift cars among several others. Also, all the cars will go out on the track to perform time trial competitions as well.
  • Speed & Style Expo: This event is held alongside the American Speed Festival which is held annually. During the Speed and Style Expo, the participant cars are put on display. The selected cars are showcased while visitors are taken in shuttle buses around the track.

1. Toyota GR 86

The first car on the list is a tuned Toyota GR86. The car is finished in steel silver exterior paintwork and gets its brakes as well as rotors upgraded to track spec units.

The motor has been tuned to deliver an impressive 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. As such, it is sure to offer a thrilling experience out on the Concourse track.

2. Volkswagen Golf GTI

Next up, is none other than a tuned unit of VW Golf GTI which gets its exterior finished in a special Cornflower Blue shade. On the inside, the car gets a fully blacked-out interior.

On the performance part, the GTI gets a 6-speed DSG delivering quick shifts. The powertrain is tuned to deliver 210 hp along with 258 lb-ft of torque from the turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 motor.

3. Volkswagen Golf GTI

The club has yet another VW Golf GTI but from the latest generation. It is finished in an understated Moonstone Grey with a combo of black paint and also gets Plaid accent inserts as well.

This GTI is tuned to deliver even more, and the output stats are 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.

4. Ford Mustang Mach 1

The M1 Concourse also has an almost fully equipped version of the Ford Mustang Mach 1 Coupe. While the previous vehicles required tuning to improve their performances, the Mach 1 didn’t need one. It comes with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 motor that is good for a healthy 450 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.

The motor is mated to Ford’s favorite, 10-speed automatic transmission. It rides on Ford’s Magna Ride suspension setup and has the Mach 1 handling package as well. To handle the braking duties, the car gets 6-piston Brembo brake units on all four wheels.

5. Mustang GT 5.0

The Mustang-madness isn’t over yet since the club has a Mustang GT 5.0 as well. The car is finished in two color options, the Shadow Black shade over red paintwork and Carbonized Gray metallic paint over black Under the hood, it has the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 motor but it generates an impressive 450 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, coming quite close to the Mach 1.

It also gets the Magan Ride suspension setup along with additional track package upgrades, making it a full-on track machine. It gets some aftermarket parts such as a Kenny Brown differential cooler system, camber plates from Steeda, and wheels from SVE.

6. Toyota GR 86

The Concourse owns yet another Toyota GR 86, but this unit is finished in the iconic Track bRED paintwork.

Other than this, the car gets the same tech upgrades as its garage mate on the Concourse. Its output numbers are souped up to 228 hp 184 lb-ft along with track-specced brake rotors and brake pads.

7. MX5 Cup Car 2015

The final car on the list is a 2015 Mazda MX-5 Cup Car. While the car might look all cute and small, it is a feisty track weapon. Under the hood, it gets a compact 2.0-liter I-4 with SKYACTIV-G tech paired with a 6-speed sequential SADEV transmission. It gets a full roll cage, racing ECU, and a stainless steel exhaust system. The MX-5 rides on forged aluminum racing wheels with the front wheels getting 4-piston Brembo brake units.
