Hot Damn!!! It's been over a decade since TD Ferrari Legends. Just recently, the studio finally gave us an official release date for the Test Drive Ultimate Solar Crown, hitting me with the nostalgia I wasn’t ready for. Here is all you need to know about it before shredding the streets of Hong Kong.

The game’s previous developer, Eden Games, was dropped for some reason. The new studio behind TDU is KT Racing, the developer of the insanely famous WRC. They have been way too busy putting out several acclaimed WRC titles.
KT Racing has been teasing the game for the past 5 years or so and just last week they launched the teaser with a release date set on September 12, 2024. The game is available for preorder and costs around $49. It will be directed by Alain Janiou and published by Nacon
The Last TDU was set in Hawaii and was made by Eden Games. This time around, KT Racing will helm the game and has chosen the Island of Hong Kong, or simply Hong Kong. The place seems right, as Hong Kong is home to some of the most prestigious car collections outside the US (cough cough Aaron Kwok).
It's filled with all kinds of Paganis and Ferraris traveling at 30 mph. Lol, The speeding laws are really strict in HK. But not for us, as we will be using the whole speedometer in the 1:1 replica of Hong Kong, along with several custom exotics and tuners at our disposal.
So basically the game has two factions, the Sharps and the Streets. From what I could gather from the trailer, both have been around for a long time in Hong Kong and are after fame, style, wealth, and prestige.
The Sharps do it in a James Bond all-tuxedo style while the Streets are more like rebels and underdogs, it's a classic for sure.
You will have the choice to start with either of the one factions and then work your way up the food chain from a Bronze Rank to Solar King or Queen. Completing various missions, quests, and heists while enjoying your stay at Solar Hotel, your HQ.
You will be able to explore Hong Kong in a wide variety of terrains and locations like shipping yards, streets, tracks, and highways. Not only that, but you can also play convoy and transport missions as side quests.
If you choose the Silver Street's edition, you get a Ford GT along with Land Rover and SLS AMG. The Silver Sharps edition includes a Jaguar F-Type SVR and an R8 V10 Spyder.
The top-of-the-line Gold Edition has all of the above cars along with the Maserati MC20 and Camaro ZL1. Here is the list of cars I saw in the trailer and TUD’s official website. The list will be updated as more exciting cars are revealed.
Plenty of YouTuber's like Gameriot have got early access to the game and so far the fans have mixed feelings about the TDU Solar Crown.
They appreciated the graphics and the expansive list of cars provided but hated the fact that you have to be always online to play the game. The old TDU was pretty much a millionaire simulator where you could trade properties as per your leisure. The Solar Crown seems to have dropped that feature.
Almost every fan in the comment section complained about the fact they couldn't purchase, buy or sell houses. Moreover, there is no offline mode so if you can't afford internet 24X7, it's a no joy.
