These Upcoming EVs Will Provide A Lot Of Fun Per KWh

Most of us know EVs are blisteringly quick yet soulless driving machines but cars like the latest Ioniq with its simulated shifts and Dodge with its Fratzonic exhaust have proven otherwise. So can these future EVs add some drama to an unavoidably dull future of cars?

Fisker Pear

We wouldn't ask you to hold your breath for this one, because Fisker has been declared bankrupt more times than you can count. Nonetheless, if Fisker manages to get its finances in order this sub $30,000 EV could rival the upcoming Tesla Model 2

The concept looks very interesting with its squared-up tail lights, minimalistic cabin, and offers seating for six.

Rivian R2s

Arguably, the only EV maker right now that is more loved than Tesla. Rivian has got some solid plans for budget EV SUVs starting with the R2 and R2s. The R2 was just launched and features a lot of usable stuff for practical-minded EV buyers.

It will be produced in 2026 and will have dual gloveboxes, upcycled interior bits, seating for 5, 300 miles of range, and will be able to do 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. Not bad for something that starts at just $45,000.

Volkswagen Scout SUV

This is quite possibly one of the anticipated throwback SUVs that VW plans to bring in an all-EV avatar after the ID Buzz. As per Motor Trend and Inside EVs, two models will be offered initially with MSRP coming around 50k.

The CEO of Scout has also confirmed some sort of differential will be present, an indication that it might be a bot off-road oriented.

Volkswagen ID.8

VW has confirmed to C&D that a three-row full-size SUV is being planned for production. Not surprising as Porsche is working on something similar, internally known as “Project K1”. But unlike Porsche, the Vw ID8 will be an all-electric affair powered by a single or dual motor setup.

Also, expect at least a couple of battery pack options along with an all-touch interior

Lincoln Star

Based on the quite posh-looking Star concept, the new EV SUV from Lincoln is all set to debut any time between 2025-2026. The concept model features wraparound seating, reclined lounge posture, and 3D-inspired parts.

The best part about this is that these features can be easily implemented in the production model which could come with 200-250 miles of range and dual electric motor setup.

The Koreans have yet to make a bad EV. Their IONIQ lineup has been hugely successful and is all set to be joined by a large SUV, previewed as the IONIQ 7 concept. The SUV will be based on the E-GMP platform and just like the concept it could have a 3M + wheelbase.

The IONIQ 7 will likely have three-row seating and features like sanitizing UV lights, OLED screens, a panoramic roof, yoke steering, and 300 miles of range that could make it into production. Expect the pricing to be somewhat around $70,000

Kia EV4

Kia’s Stinger series has been some of the most applauded and bang-for-buck power sedans globally. And by the looks of the EV4 concept, an all-electric sedan is on the horizon. There is nothing concrete about the EV4 we can confirm except the fact that it is happening.

Going by the status quo expect a couple of battery packs and powertrains as an option with at least 250 miles of usable range.
