Fastest Honda Cars Made Till Now

Honda has been known to develop some of the most reliable and practical cars. However, their range is not limited to that. Honda has a long history in motorsport and has created some of the best and fastest sports cars that strike the perfect balance between practicality and performance.

Honda's portfolio includes some of the all-time classics, like the S2000, which would rev as high as 9000 rpm; the unique Accord EX-V6 Coupe; and the all-time favorite Civic Type R Touring. Since the 1980s, they have been offering reliable sports cars to their American audiences.

 6. 1970-1980 Honda Civic

We assume you do have a soft spot for vintage cars, so we are starting our list with an old Honda from the 1970s. The Honda Civic was launched in the United States as a hatchback model, with the five-door hatchback model coming in 1978. At launch, the Civic had a price of $2,200 and was equipped with a 1.2- to 1.5-liter engine that had an output of 54 hp to 70 hp.

The car had a top speed of 83 mph to 96 mph, with a 0-60 mph time ranging from 11.1 seconds to 18.1 seconds. The Civic had a highway fuel economy of 40 MPG. Honda has recently redesigned the 2022 Civic sedan and hatchback with the most upscale interior yet.

5. 1980-1990 Honda CR-X Si

In the upcoming years, Honda started making very good-looking cars, and the CR-X Si was one of them. The Honda CR-X Si, made from 1988 to 1991, was the second generation of the CR-X vehicle. The Si model was equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine that produced 105 hp and 98 lb-ft of torque.

The car went from 0 to 60 mph in less than 9 seconds and reached a top speed of 126 mph. It covered the quarter-mile in 16.8 seconds. The CR-X Si had a price of $10,185, which was quite expensive for a Honda car.

4. 1990-2000 Honda Civic Type R

It won't be an exaggeration to say that from the early 2000s, the Civic started evolving in terms of speeds and performances. The Honda Civic Type R was based on the Civic's sixth generation and was first introduced in 1997. The Type R back then was equipped with a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine that made 182 hp and 118 lb-ft of torque. It was coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission and FWD.

The car sprinted from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 135 mph. The Civic Type R cost $14,407 in its base version in 1997.

3. 2000-2010 Honda S2000 CR

And here comes the iconic S2000 sports car. The 2008 Honda S2000 was the facelifted version, also known as the AP2 in the United States. The car had a naturally aspirated 2.2-liter inline-4 engine that made 237 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. The updated version gave the car shorter gearing for the first five gears and a taller setting for the sixth. This, in turn, improved the S200’s performance as one of the best Honda race cars.

The CR stands for Club Racer. The car had a 0–60 mph time of 5.3 seconds, with the Honda S2000's top speed logged at 150 mph. The S2000 CR costs $37,000.

2. 2010-2020 Honda Civic Type R

This was the time when the CTR hatchback had the most robust look in a hatchback and truly impressed everyone with its power as well as the interior. The 2017 Honda Civic Type R was a monster car. Its I-4 turbocharged engine makes 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The car comes with a six-speed manual transmission and has a curb weight of 3,105 lbs.

1. 2020-2022 Honda Civic Si

The Civic Si is good for those who want sophistication above a normal Civic but do not wish for a major power supply. The 2022 Honda Civic Si comes with a turbocharged 1.5-liter I-4 engine that makes 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. The car costs $27,585 and has a fuel economy of 27 MPG city and 37 MPG highway. The car sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 148 mph.

 2023 Honda Civic Type R

And here is the fastest Honda car ever made: the 2023 Honda Civic Type R. With a design aesthetic similar to the 2017 Civic Type R, the 2023 Civic Type R brings more power and a smoother ride. The larger chassis gave it a more muscular road presence. With the same 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, it generates 315 HP at 6500 rpm and 310 LB-FT of torque at an rpm range of 2600 to 4000.

The 2023 Honda CTR, with more muscle and power in its veins, runs 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 169 mph.
