Top 10 Fastest 0-60 Production Cars Of All Time

Hypercars like Rimac Nevera, and Lucid Air Sapphire can reach less than 2 seconds thanks to advanced traction control systems and torque vectoring. Although EVs have dominated the top positions,  gas-powered cars from Buggati, Koenigsegg, and Hennessey are no slouch and can give the EVs a run for their money on occasion.

Some of the other brands that we have included in the list are Dodge, Ferrari, and Tesla. Now without much ado, let us move to the list.

  2020 Hennessey Venom F5

The all-American  Hennessey Venom F5 has all the technology features and track performance a buyer would ever need. The Venom F5 has a carbon fiber chassis, active aerodynamics, and an iron block twin turbo V8 that is capable of propelling the car to 300 + mph. The Venom F5 has an astonishing power-to-weight ratio of 1,358 hp per ton.

The Venom F5 is the first American hypercar to use active aerodynamics and is made entirely out of carbon fiber, which is the main reason behind its hilariously low 3000-pound curb weight and sub-10-second 0 to 186 mph. 

Aside from its ultra-exclusive offerings like Venom GT and Venom F5, Hennessey Performance is a known tuner that offers 1000 hp upgrades for muscle cars and trucks. Recently, Michael Jordan also took delivery of a bespoke Hennessey Venom F5 roadster.

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is the latest and greatest from the Sweden-based hypercar company. The Jesko comes in two trims the "Attack" and "Absolut", the former is designed to conquer track days while the latter is a straight-line ballistic missile. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is powered by a bespoke engine that features the lightest crankshaft ever made.

Jesko absolut was designed after countless CFD simulations and produces just 150 kg of downforce at 330 mph, enabling it to cut through the air with minimal drag.

Koenigsegg along with its equally famous founder Christian Von Koenigsegg is all set to test the Jesko to its limits very soon and will probably break the fastest production car record without breaking a sweat. Recently, Jesko's famed LST Transmission and 1600 HP engine became available as an option for the brand's first Hyper GT, Koenigsegg Gemera.

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon shook the world when it launched and is now hailed as one of the most spectacular muscle cars to come out of Detroit. Dodge also gave the "Demon Crate" for $1 which included a performance powertrain control module with high-octane engine calibration and special drag runners amongst plenty of car tools.

Demon's party trick is its launch control that puts down 840 horsepower (on 100 Octane) and helps propel the car to a 2.3 zero-to-60 mph and 9.65 quarter mile time at 140 mph, on a prepped drag strip of course.

On streets, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon still is impressive and can easily manage a mid-3 second 0 to 60 sprint. Dodge recently bid adieu to the Demon nameplate with plenty of "last Call" editions and will replace the famed Hemi with EV-only models.

2021 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport

The 2021 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the simmered-down version of the bonkers Chiron Super Sport 300 +, which is the fastest Bugatti ever made. The Super Sport comes with mainly aesthetic changes like Visual Carbon Fiber trim, exclusively designed wheels, and perforation on front fenders that reminds us of the Bugatti EB110.

The Bugatti's launch control is set at 2500 rpm and will catapult the Chiron Super Sport to 186 mph in just 12.1 seconds.

The 2021 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport's massive W16 generates enough thrust to pull a freight train and comes with revised tuning that sums up to increased RPM, now set at 7100 and a subsequent 99 hp boost in output compared to the base Bugatti Chiron. Although Bugatti has stated that it is done with top-speed runs, the upcoming Jesko could have Bugatti rolling back on its statement for good.

2019 Ferrari SF90 Stradale

The 2019 Ferrari SF90 Stradale is the Maranello prime take on a hybrid supercar and has since become the quickest Ferrari of all time. Independent tests by Car and Driver have pegged the SF90 Stradale's 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 2.0 seconds!

Thanks to two motors in front and a rear-mounted Turbocharged V8, the 2023 Ferrari SF90 Stradale has power and traction in heaps, due to Ferrari's latest eSSC (electric Side Slip Control) and retuned engine, which by itself makes 769 hp.

The 2019 SF90 Stradale primarily competes with the sensational Lamborghini Revuelto which also has 1000 horsepower on tap. Buyers can also get the SF90 Stradale with an Asseto Fiorano package that sheds weight and adds bi-color hood decals but costs an eye whopping $990,000. 

2021 Tesla Model S Plaid

Powered by carbon-sleeved electric motors, the 2021 Tesla Model S plaid shook the world by putting out acceleration numbers that were as shocking as its sticker price of sub $150,000. A bargain of the century indeed. Most importantly range losses were minimal despite its breathtaking performance and its ability to reach 60 mph in just 1. 99 seconds.

The Tesla Model S Plaid can only send the bulk of its 1020 hp on the tarmac in ludicrous mode, which has a wait time of 2-3 minutes and can reach 200 mph only with special tires and brake upgrades.

Buyers of the 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid were horrified with its 60 to 0 numbers thanks to its massively underpowered brake setup, forcing Tesla to release a $20,000 carbon ceramic brake upgrade package. Those looking for Plaid-level performance and practicality can similarly go for the Tesla Model X plaid or for the Lucid Air Sapphire that posted an 8.9-second quarter mile, besting even the mighty Plaid.

 2023 Lucid Air Sapphire

The Lucid Air Sapphire has only one goal in mind, to take on the mighty Tesla Model S Plaid in every way possible. The Sapphire is the fastest EV Lucid offers and is powered by a tri-motor setup that enables torque vectoring and a sub-9-second quarter mile time. The Air Sapphire can also manage a 420 + mile range on a single charge, an impressive feat for a car that makes 1200 hp and weighs more than 5300 pounds.

Unlike the Dream edition, the Lucid Air Sapphire is equipped with three electric motors that enable over 1800 hp but are limited to 1200 hp due to its battery size. The Lucid Traction control system is the best in the industry it reads the tire slippage 25 times a second and manages torque in real-time for maximum traction off the line.

The 2023 Lucid Air Sapphire may have beaten its archrival Tesla Model S Plaid but costs an unjustifiable $100,000 more. Consequently, Lucid fans can check out the Air Dream edition which is still plenty quick, or wait for the hotly anticipated Lucid Gravity SUV.

Taycan Turbo GT

As is the case with every Porsche, looks like the horsepower numbers were a bit bogus and we mean that in a very positive manner. C&D managed to get a 0-60 mph time of just 1.898 seconds in one direction while testing the mighty 1092 horsepower Taycan Turbo GT equipped with Trofeo RS’. 

The quarter-mile came in at 9.3 seconds at 150 mph. The best part is this was not equipped with the Weissach package which sheds 165 pounds for even more off-the-line drama. 
 

2021 Rimac Nevera

The 2021 Rimac Nevera is the fastest car in the Quarter mile ever produced with buyers and independent testers managing an 8.7-second run multiple times. The quad motor setup with active torque vectoring has helped Rimac Nevera lay dust on every hypercar that dared cross its path and can manage a sub-2-second 60 mph run all day long.

Despite its crazy 1914 hp power output and 5000-pound curb weight, the Rimac Nevera has an impressive power-to-weight ratio thanks to an all-carbon fiber construction and a 120 kWh battery.

The Rimac Nevera has no equal and can also reach 240 mph +. The car recently broke several world records and is the fastest EV to lap the "Green Hell" Nurburgring. Cars such as Lotus Evija, and Pininfarina Battista are its prime rivals and pack an equally bonkers 2000 hp.

2020 Aspark Owl

The second place for the fastest 0-60 production car is reserved for the Aspark Owl. A Japanese electric hypercar with close to 2000 horsepower and a spaceship-like interior. Limited to only 50 pieces, each Owl costs $3.2 million. The Japanese hypercar claims to hit 0-60 mph in 1.72 seconds.

Based on a carbon monocoque chassis weighing 265 pounds, the car has a dry weight of 4189 pounds. With a 64.0 kWh battery pack assisting four motors, it promises 280 miles of driving range.

Aspark Owl has four electric motors and a 64.0 kWh battery pack. They all make 1,984 horsepower and 1,475 lb-ft of torque. The Aspark Owl's top speed is claimed at 249 mph.

2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon170

And here is the fastest 0-60 production car ever made--the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. You are not ready for this muscle car to outperform some of the most expensive hypercars at just 1/10th of their prices. The last heir of the "Last Call" series shook the world with its 0-60 mph run in 1.66 seconds only.

It does a quarter-mile in 8.61 seconds and breaks all the stereotypes of muscle cars as not being able to beat supercars. The 2023 Demon 170 price is $100,361.

The 2023 Demon 170 muscle car is powered by a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine that makes 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque while burning 91-octane fuel. The E85 fuel unleashes the true potential of the car by generating 1,025 hp and 945 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 215 mph.
