Fastest Alfa Romeo Cars
Alfa Romeo being an indelible name for Italian sports cars has commissioned some of the best luxury cars out there. Dive in with us to learn more about such best and the fastest Alfa Romeo cars ever made.

Alfa Romeo is a brand that is known for two things, firstly, its beautifully crafted automobiles, and secondly, its inherent Italian reliability issues. But this list of the fastest Alfa Romeo cars ever made has rectified their nuances. Alfa Romeo stands as a premium carmaker of the Stellantis group just under Maserati, and they have gained a decent amount of traction after their inclusion in this group.

Honorable Mentions:

The list above is arranged on the basis of top speed only. However, the long gap in the model year is because in-between Alfa Romeo left the United States market and only returned when Fiat bought Chrysler all of which are now under Stellantis.

Some of the vintage Alfa Romeo cars are already in demand. Be it the sedan, coupe, or SUV, the brand has established great goodwill and it lets people spend a heavy sum on them. Similarly, the upcoming 2025 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is an all-new member joining the castle.

In the video above, Supercar Blondie reviews the limited edition Alfa Romeo. Talking about almost everything about the car, she even drives it and gives a brief history about some of the most special cars from the brand.

Which is the fastest Alfa Romeo model as of now?

The 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm is the fastest Alfa Romeo model as of now. It has 533 horsepower and it can do 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds and touch a top speed of 191 MPH. The 2021 Giulia GTAm is also the most powerful Alfa Romeo ever made leaving the likes of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio and 8C Competizione behind.

Does Alfa Romeo have a V8? Which Alfa Romeo has a Ferrari engine?

Earlier, some Alfa Romeo models came with a V8 motor under the hood. The 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C had a naturally aspirated V8 motor that produced 450 horsepower. As of now, there is no V8-powered Alfa Romeo in the current lineup, however, the twin-turbo V6 engine of the Giulia Quadrifoglio is a Ferrari-derived engine.

What does Quadrifoglio mean?

Quadrifoglio means “Four Leaf Clovers”, and Alfa Romeo has been using this badge on their motorsport and performance-oriented cars. If an Alfa Romeo comes with this badge, then it is a performance spec model, way different than the regular ones.

Now, without further talking, let’s dive into the Alfas straight away-

Did You Know?

We all know Ferrari through the courtesy of Enzo Ferrari. but the man himself once worked for Alfa Romeo for almost 20 years! He joined Alfa Romeo in the late 1920s but eventually, he was forced to leave it in 1939

Driving the Tonale feels quite nice, and the quality is at par with its competitors, and sometimes even better. We feel like it could have had better and softer seats that’d help you munch mile after mile without any back pain.

9. Alfa Romeo 147 V6 GTA

Red Alfa Romeo 147 V6 GTA Front Side Back

The classic hot hatch segment might be ruled by the Volkswagen Golf, but the VW has shadowed many unique hot hatches like the Renault Clio V6 and the Alfa Romeo 147 V6 GTA.

The 147 GTA hatchback was produced from 2002 to 2005, and a total of over 5000 units were sold. In the UK, it used to have a base price of around $28,000 back in the early 2000s.

The GTA was the fastest of the lot, but it was also one of the poorest when it came to handling. The engine was mounted at the front, powering the front wheels, which made it oversteer quite a lot in corners.

Alfa did give it a traction control system, but that also struggled to keep it on track when pushed hard. Basically, it was a straight-line hero with a screaming Italian V6, and it came with a rich interior, with sporty enhancements.

8. 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup

Red 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup Front Side

Here we have another special car among the fastest Alfa Romeos over the years, and it is the GTV Cup. The 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup was based on the Alfa Romeo GTV 3.0 V6, which back in 1997 got an updated 24-valve motor under the hood.

There was also an option for a 2.0-liter engine, which was obviously less powerful than the bigger 3.0-liter motor. Alfa Romeo built only 419 units of these Cup series GTV models, which included RHD and LHD versions.

The V6-powered cars were painted only in red, and all the RHD models came equipped with this engine only. The GTV Cup models came with additional enhancements like a rear spoiler, side skirts, wheel arch side vents, and titanium-like finished iconic Telephone alloy rims, etc.

A recent sale of a 2001 Alfa Romeo GTV Cup was done for around $23,000, which gives us an idea of what the approximate value of these modern Italian classics can be!

7. 2003 Alfa Romeo GTV 3.2 V6

Silver 2003 Alfa Romeo GTV 3.2 V6 Front Side Back

The Alfa Romeo GTV got a facelift after the first models started to feel outdated, and with the new facelift, a new 3.2-liter V6 motor was also introduced to the market. The body was slightly redesigned by Pininfarina, along with some upgrades inside the car.

The new V6 was a very rev-happy engine, it screamed till 7000 RPM, and peak power came around 6000 RPM, while the torque tops at less than 5000. One issue we noticed was that the clutch became heavy when it became warm, and that’s not a nice thing.

But, Italians are known for not being perfect, and we believe that this notchiness can be compromised when you’re getting a high-revving naturally aspirated V6 motor. Unfortunately, it didn’t come to the US shores, and if you want one, you’ve to import it from the UK or other European countries.

Red Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Butterfly Doors Front Side

The 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was one of the fastest street-legal sports cars in the 60s, and it is considered one of the first supercars the world has ever seen, along with the Mercedes-Benz Gullwing.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was fast, and it looked fast as well. Alfa Romeo added butterfly doors to the 33 Stradale to make it look more epic, and now you know that it’s not just a Lamborghini thing.

Back in the day, the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale used to cost at least $17,000, and reports suggest that $2,000 was the average price of cars in the 1960s. So it was very expensive for its time, and only 33 units of these were ever made.

We tried to find out the current valuation of the 33 Stradale, but it is very rare to see an Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale change hands these days, so there is no actual data. But, being one of the first Italian supercars, expect it to fetch at least a couple million dollars in an auction.

It was powered by a Ferrari-sourced 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that produced 450 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque. In third-party testing, the coupe did 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and covered a standing quarter-mile in 12.8 seconds.

1. 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm

Green 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm Front Side

The 2021 Alfa Romeo GTA and GTAm models are perfect for those who want a street-legal racecar in their garages. A Ferrari-derived twin-turbo V6 under the hood pumps out over 500 ponies, but that’s not where the GTAm shines.

The GTAm is a proper racecar, with a half roll-cage at the back, and even if it gets four doors, you’d be surprised to know that the rear doors, windows, and even the windshield are made out of plastic to save weight.

Not only that, there’s no back seat, the front seats are made out of carbon fiber, and you get a set of proper 6-point seatbelts. How cool is that?

As a race-spec model, the GTAm gets a lot of carbon fiber parts, some of which are exposed and some painted like usual metal body panels. No need to say, aerodynamic parts are a huge addition to the Giulia, including a totally new front bumper with an adjustable splitter, a big diffuser at the back, and a carbon fiber rear wing that can also be adjusted according to the requirements of the driver.

Only 500 units of the Alfa Romeo GTA and GTAms were ever made in total, and back when it was on sale, the Alfa Romeo GTAm was priced at around $225,000 in the European region.

 2025 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

Here comes one of the recently teased, limited-edition supercars from the brand, the 2025 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. As the name suggests, only 33 of such examples will ever be made with an estimated price tag of $1 million for each car. This inspiration came from the company’s history in the 1960s when it made 33 Stradale, even rarer than the present one. Only 18 of such sports cars were ever made.

Furthermore, it was considered as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. To effectively blend the charismatic charm of the 1960s 33 Stradale with the latest tech, Alfa Romeo uses some mechanicals of the Maserati MC20 sports car.

The limited-edition 33 Stradale made only for some lucky people showcases the brand’s intention of bringing some more vintage cars with new tech and power advancements.
