5. Rinspeed Porsche 969

This Porsche 969 was displayed at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show. It saw a clear inspiration for the design from the Ferrari Testarossa. The car was a Porsche 911 turbo with the desired conversions done. The car had weird designs of side extensions with cooling fins just like the Ferrari. Also, some design elements like a slant nose of the car with pop-up headlights created a highlight. Also, an addition of a rear spoiler was made along with underneath-placed taillights.

Also, the car was made available with 16-inch wheels from Gotti. On the inside, the car showcased every bit of the 90s. The car used a Pioneer audio system with a steering wheel-mounted panel. A twin loudspeaker setup was installed in the door panels and behind the seats. Mechanically, the car was a 911 turbo with a 3.3L flat-6 unit producing 300 horsepower. The car to date has only done 9,800 miles post the upgrade. The car at the time of auction saw a price range of $125,000 to $150,000.

4. The Rinspeed Porsche R69 Turbo

This custom car was done by the Swiss company, Rinspeed and is a unique one itself. It looks like a Ferrari with a prominent red color. The car sees bulky Testarossa-like grills, folding headlights, along with Porsche 944’s rear lights.

The whole design was appealing to the olden times. The car spat out almost 450lb-ft of torque. This one also was unveiled at the 1985 Geneva Motor Show.

3. Rinspeed Squba

This Rinspeed marvel saw a unique feature of flying underwater. The same concept was used in the movie “The Spy Who Loved Me”. The car was the world’s first submersible car and was shown to the world at the Geneva Motor Show 2008.

The car could dive at a depth of 10 meters for a usual vehicle apart from military ones. It was developed to do so at the Swiss engineering specialist, Esoro. The regular combustion engine was replaced by electric motors along with equivalent waterproofing. These motors are three in number. One of them provides propulsion on land whereas the other two are useful under the water. The power is supplied via lithium-ion batteries. This makes the car a zero-emission vehicle.

The sports car is an agile and lively option with a hydraulic mechanism that transforms the sports car into an amphibious vehicle. The car delivered a maximum power of 140 horsepower and electric power of 103 kW. It accelerates from a standstill to 60 MPH in under 5.9 seconds along with a top speed of 125 MPH.

This concept car made by Rinspeed was shown to the world at the 2006 Geneva Autoshow. The car is based on Porsche 911 Carrera S platform. The car is powered by the famous boxer engine by Porsche, a 3.8L unit. This unit pushed a power of 370 horsepower and a torque of 295 lb-ft making the car do a top speed of 182 MPH along with a 0-60 MPH timing of 4.8 seconds.
