The Porsche 918 Spyder is still a spectacular vehicle both to look at and to drive even though it is not as quick around the tracks as its siblings. Back on September 4, 2013, Porsche set a lap record on the Ring with a Weissach package equipped 918 Spyder. Driving the car was Marc Lieb and he drove it around the Nurburgring within 6:57 minutes.
According to Porsche, the 918 Spyder back then was the fastest time ever for a production-based car homologated for road use.

With the $84,000 factory option (Weissach package), the Porsche 918 Spyder summons 875 horsepower and 950 lb-ft of torque with its 4.6L V8 Hybrid engine. A 6.8 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery is connected to two electric motors on front and rear axle resulting in a 0 - 60 MPH dash in just 2.2 seconds.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS, driven by Lars Kern and Kévin Estre, consistently completed four Nürburgring laps under seven minutes each, with a best time of 6:56.4. This achievement, made in ideal conditions on April 16 2018, highlighted the car's impressive performance, beating the previous-generation model by a surprising 24 seconds.

On 15 September 2020, the Porsche 911 GT3 (no we didn't miss the RS) set yet another lap time at the Nürburgring in 6:59:927. With Porsche's factory driver Lars Kern, the 911 GT3 with a manual transmission set this record on the longer lap of 12.9 miles length. With this lap, the GT3 officially became a faster and more capable track car than the GT3 hybrid 918 Spyder.
On the standard shorter lap of 12.8 miles (20.6 km), the official lap time stood at 6:55.34 minutes whereas the time for 12.9 miles (20.8 km) lap, the GT3 took 6:59.927 minutes.

Without the RS badge shining on either side, the GT3 gets the same 4.0L flat-6 however tuned to produce 503 horsepower and 347 lb-ft. Unlike the RS, the GT3 uses a 6-speed manual gearbox with 0 to 60 MPH time of 3.9 seconds however gets a better top speed of 199 MPH.

The number seven on the list of fastest lap times on the Nurburgring set in Porsche is reserved for Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
The record was not set by Porsche but German publication Sport Auto with their own driver Christian Gebhardt behind the wheel. With a lap time of 6:54:99 minutes on 19 October 2022, the GT3 RS with the factory driver proved how it is one of the quickest cars to ever lap the Green Hell.

By now it is evident that Porsche loves to showcase its glorious experience of making some of the best sports cars in the world by setting lap records on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
While the 911 GT2 RS is incredibly quick, Porsche did not want to limit itself and offered a Weissach package to shave even more weight from the car to make it quicker.
Eventually, all proved to be worth it when two of the 911 GT2 RS's crossed the 12.9 mile lap of Nürburgring in 6:47:25 minutes driven by Lars Kern and Nick Tandy.

A tuned car from Porsche, the 911 GT2 RS MR did set the fastest lap for a road-legal car back on October 25th, 2018. The car has been tuned by Manthey Racing which is a fifty-one percent subsidiary of Porsche though.
The GT2 RS was equipped with Weissach Package which deletes audio and communication system thereby adding larger wing and dive planes for better track agility.
The car was driven around the circuit by Lars Kern a.k.a Mr. Nürburgring in a record time of 6:44.749 minutes. On the standard shorter lap of 12.8 miles, the car crossed the mark in 6:40:33 minutes shattering the record of the McLaren P1 LM.

At the rear of the car is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged H-6 engine that delivers 690 horses along with 553 lb-ft of torque. The car’s powertrain has been kept stock, making it road legal.

While the Porsche 911 GT2 RS is literally quite enough to send chills down the spine, Manthey’s Nordschleife specialists in Meuspath seem to disagree.
The Manthey Performance Kit includes chassis, aerodynamic, and brake components specially developed for the 911 GT2 RS.
With such changes, the 911 GT2 RS managed to set a lap time of 6:43.300 minutes for road-approved cars on 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife on 14 June 2021. Driven by none other than Mr. Nurburgring, Lars Kern who has the most number of Nurburgring records attached to his name.

Running on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, this 911 GT2 RS with Manthey Performance Kit boasts the same 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-6 motor paired with a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (dual-clutch). With a claimed 0 to 60 MPH of 2.8 seconds, it beat the former record of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series at 6:48:047.
Lap Time - 6:11.13 Minutes
Another record set by Porsche on the Nürburgring Nordschleife was back on May 28th, 1983 when Stefan Bellof drove the 956 race car.
He did this almost impossible feat while participating in the 1983 Nürburgring 1,000 km world championship and set a lap record of 6:11.13. While this may read like just another record, it actually is a special one.
Considering the time it was set in and the fact that it stood tall for 35 years straight. The Porsche 956 did not have any electronic aids back then and the 956 was a bare-bone manual transmission car.

On June 29th, 2018, Porsche set an incredible and fastest lap ever on the Nurburgring. The German brand took the modified version of the Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid called 919 Evo. The car was developed as a prototype for Le Mans but as it turns out, the car ended up setting the fastest lap ever on the Ring.
Timo Bernhard was the one who set the lap record and managed to achieve this feat with a record lap time of 5:19.55 minutes only!

The vehicle is a hybrid with a compact 2.0-liter turbocharged V4 as the gasoline motor. The motor is assisted by a KERS system along with a motor generator unit, and these are mounted on the front axle.
Together, the powertrain delivers an astonishing 720 hp. However, Porsche said the system is capable of developing over 1,100 horses without the restrictions.
Porsche removed the air conditioning, windscreen wipers, headlights, and other electrical devices to bring the overall weight down to 1,872 lbs.
